IRIS Distribution, Memorex and MusicIP announced a promotional partnership today that will deliver hundreds of recordings directly onto a new line of Memorex MP3 players and into the hands of music fans worldwide.
Memorex launched a new line of MP3 players with a new, instant play-listing technology, called MyDJ?, built into the device. With these next generation Memorex devices, music is pre-loaded and ready to scan, select, mix and play according to the user's musical preferences. MyDJ, a technology provided by MusicIP, allows the user to explore how new tracks are related to the music they already own. When artists show up in these instant mixes created right on the device, they are contextualized by the best source of what that particular user likes - their own collection.
Memorex MP3 players will be available in Target nationwide with additional retail partners being announced soon.
IRIS has contributed nearly 300 tracks across all genres of music. Some of the participating labels represented by IRIS include Ghostly International, Gemini Sun Records, Redemption Records, Megaforce, Duck Down, Palmetto, Soleilmoon, Q Division and more.
The leader in marketing and promoting independent music, IRIS Distribution has secured partnerships with numerous high quality brands including: SCION, Chandon, Live365, and YouSendIt to spotlight its prominent roster of artists and labels.
Bryn Boughton, Chief Marketing Officer at IRIS Distribution, said, "As a company focused on marketing, we're always looking for creative ways to promote our labels' music and expose their artists to new fans. Partnering with MusicIP and Memorex was a great way to reach a more mainstream audience who otherwise may never be turned on to independent music."
Added Stephanie Phillips, VP of Marketing for MusicIP, "MusicIP is honored to work with companies like IRIS and Memorex to bring consumers a blend of the best music and the best technology to make listening more enjoyable."
