Are files that are being copied across and written to disk locked on Windows?
Assuming I am using the native mode of copying files via copy and paste on a given Windows device, are files that are being written to a given path locked until it has completely written the entire file? Where are the temp files being written e.g. %TEMP%?
Is this different if a file or files are being FTP'ed?
The reason I would like to know is because I intend to use robocopy to perform a one way synchronization from the source directory to the destination directory each time there is a change. I would like to avoid a half-written file being synchronized.
