URB Magazine Partners With Imeem for Magic

URB Magazine and Imeem are teaming up for Magic/Pool/Projekt. Held at the Las Vegas convention center from February 21st - February 24th, Magic is the premier trade show for clothing designers and consumers. Pool and projekt are the 2 premiere boutiques shows that were recently purchased by Advancestar the parent company to Magic. URB Magazine will bring their 15 year history in the urban underground alternative culture and combine it with the premier social network service of Imeem.


The content partnership will feature exclusives from the tradeshow floor. Imeem torrents will blog and podcast exclusive photos, streams, and videos from the tradeshow floor. Papierdoll Magazine and Second City Style Announce Launch of Meet the Designer Series of Events Beginning at Fall Fashion Week 2008 in New York

Papierdoll Magazine, the flagship site of the Papierdoll group of fashion sites and blogs and Second City Style, fashion magazine and blog announce the launch of a series of events beginning at New York Fashion week and continuing throughout the year. The events, simply titled "Meet the Designer" is set to highlight top emerging fashion, art and design talents in and around the United States.


The first Meet the Designer series happens on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 during IMG / Mercedes-Benz fashion week at hotel QT near Times Square and minutes away from the epicenter of fashion week, Bryant Park.


The event will focus on emerging fashion design talent Jedda Kahn. Since showing his first Spring collection in 2005, Kahn has held various fashion shows around New York City and this season he looks to show his breakout Fall 2008 collection to an audience including celebrities, press and design peers.


The installation show is set to take place against the backdrop of Hotel QT's acclaimed swimming pool room which contains a large movie screen a spa, and a sauna.


"This event allows the press and public to get face-to-face with emerging design talent," said Michelle Bell, editor in chief of Papierdoll. "They will not only experience the clothes, but they will get the opportunity to talk to the designer and understand the thought process involved in putting a fall collection together."


Lauren Dimet Waters of Second City Style states, "Emerging designers, artists, photographers are the lifeblood of their respective field. Without their works, advancement in the arts ceases to exist. They create the definitive works that are studied examined and appreciated for years to come; this series of events is meant to shine the spotlight on their works and contributions."


The event is also being held in conjunction with Projekt NYC, a collective group that holds various networking events around New York including their award winning Love party.


The first event is being held at the posh Hotel QT near Times Square. The hotel is home to a multitude of major events throughout the year. Jedda Kahn's live model installation show will take place in the QT's luxurious pool room complete with sauna and spa.
